My short rant on HP Printers

At the beginning of my sophomore year at university, I bought an HP printer. It came with a 6 month long HP ink subscription, and it was relatively cheap, I thought it was great. It didn’t come with any ink, but upon enrolling in the instant ink program, the ink was shipped to me. It worked well and the ink cartridges they sent had a very large capacity and I never needed a refill. (really makes me wonder, why they dont fill up the standard catridges to that capacity.)

After the trial had ended, although the cartridge still had lots of ink, I was not allowed to use it to print, until I resubscribed to instant ink and paid them per page, not per cartridge of ink used.

I subscribed to it for a while, but it really is not worth the money when compared to owning your own ink and printer. In this business model, one esentially rents their printer’s functionality.

There is nothing inherently wrong with this model however, I do not like it. I want to own my printer and ink.

Here ends Nico’s rant.

TLDR: HP printers suck (in my opinion of course 🙂 )
